Selena Giraud

Selena Giraud of Baltimore, MD, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at the age of 20 after a long battle with depression and dysphoria. Born on August 6, 2003, in Fort Bragg, NC, she was a bright light in the lives of those who loved her.

Selena was cherished for her intelligence and wit. She valued her time with friends, sharing interests in video games, reading, music and creating wonderful memories with people who accepted, supported, and never judged her. Selena was a beacon of light in the darkness, spreading kindness and teaching everyone around her the importance of understanding, sympathy, tolerance, and acceptance. Despite facing numerous challenges as a woman of transgender experience, Selena's spirit and resilience shone through, leaving a lasting impact on those who knew her.

Selena found acceptance and care from her chosen family, including her sisters Katie Mulliken, Chloe Jones, and Lily Giraud, who saw and loved her for who she truly was. She will be deeply missed by these special individuals, as well as the many others whose lives she touched.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 17, 2024.
